In support of the NHS England Healthy New Towns programme, IBI Group was appointed as special advisors, with a mission to integrate Evidence Based Design (EBD) approaches into the proposals created by the teams selected by the NHS.
The goal of the project is simple: promoting community wellbeing through future-forward planning and connectivity. Ten demonstrator sites have been identified for this initiative, potentially impacting 76,000 homes, over 200,000 people, as well as the supporting community infrastructure. Over the course of a six-month contract period, IBI Group and our partners have supported all ten demonstrator sites through workshop events, peer review, and the creation of comprehensive guidance documents.
We continue to work with the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre at the University of the West of England (UWE), sustainability consultant Greengage, and wellness consultant Anni Hood, contributing our expertise in the fields of health and service strategy, travel and transport, digital smart cities, behavioural insights, inclusive design and dementia.
